Let's Study Wine Together: Chasing Burgundy with Mary Margaret McCamic, Master of Wine
I was avoiding a deep dive into Burgundy, but I know Mary Margaret is going to make class fun and enjoyable
I admit I have avoided a deep dive into Burgundy for wine. Why? Because most wine people haven’t made it enjoyable to learn. Full stop. In my profession it’s all about how expensive the bottle you should be drinking without realizing most people don’t have access to even be able to purchase these wines, let alone drink them. Also, I want to learn without having to pass a test to do so. I want enjoyment. I want to be a student. And after visiting Chablis last summer I was waiting for the right opportunity to dip my proverbial “wine” toe into the region for fun and work.
In many ways, wine doesn’t seem fun. I get it. It’s my job and it is often my biggest complaint. I don’t care how much the bottle of wine costs, if it can’t be paired with snacks, it is not for me. Why? Because no one I know is having these epic meals and wine every night, but that’s a topic for another day.
When Mary Margaret announced this class I knew she was my teacher. Not only is she a friend and colleague, but she is very relatable when it comes to wine. She’s highly credentialed and she’s done the work to lead this type of learning without all the wine BS that comes with learning about this region. Mary Margaret is a Co-Founder of Wine Unify, a non-profit organization whose goals are to welcome, elevate, and amplify the voices of non-white, underrepresented minorities in the wine industry where I am also a founding mentor.
Will she keep your mind interested? Yes.
Will she have even a beginner feeling weclomed? Yes.
I give you, Chasing Burgundy.
Chasing Burgundy is our chance to learn together. I’m doing the All Class Pass which includes all 9 classes, the Burgundy Primer, and is available on demand for one year. This is a complete guide through Burgundy with an expert. This works for me since I will have to miss a few classes due to work commitments.
So, who’s joining me in learning about Burgundy with Mary Margaret? To explore more, visit the website Chasing Burgundy to view the class schedule, wine list, and much more. Let me know in the comments or via email.
Thank you!
*I want to learn Burgundy better because I’m leading a small luxury group trip to the region in 2026. Stay tuned on a launch in the coming months.*
