A Wine You Should Be Drinking: La Fête du Rosé
‘Tis the season for rosé. For many as spring slowly beckons it is the onslaught of “rosé season” although for me, rosé is a yearlong love. Not all rosés are created equal and for many of them they fizzle faster than a shooting star. What I like in rosés are delicious, great acid that makes you want to have another sip, and very food friendly. And when I say food, I mean the gamut - salty potato chips, cheesy crackers, seafood, and BBQ. I’m from Texas so my rosés must go with a lot of my favorite foods.
La Fête du Rosé was founded by Donae Burston who was enamored with the beautiful wines from Côtes de Provence when he was celebrating his birthday in St. Tropez. If you’ve never been to St. Tropez, I highly recommend you go. It’s as lush and fun as you think it would be. This rosé in partnership is part of one of the 18 Cru Classé estates in Provence.
My favorite part of La Fête is the tagline:
La Fête is a party and everyone is invited.
I had the pleasure to visit and dine at the home of La Fête in Provence - Château Saint-Maur.* The grounds as you would expect are splendid, but it's the hospitality of the estate and the good juice that makes me want to return to this wine every year.
If you have never had a bottle of La Fête du Rosé or simply La Fête what are you waiting for?
La Fête Rosé, a wine you should be drinking.
P.S. They make a delicious white and red too. Get a case, four bottles of each, and you won’t be disappointed. Trust me on this.
A few photos of my visit to Provence with La Fête in 2022. *I’m currently planning a trip back to this storied estate in Provence. Stay tuned.*
I've seen this before and wondered was it decent. I'll definitely have to check it out! ❤️🍷
Salud!
